Public recommendations on transparency discussed in Brussels
Recommendations for more transparency in the EU from participants at TransparencyCamp Europe (TCampEU) will be discussed during today’s Working Party on Information at the council of the EU in Brussels. The Netherlands presidency put these very practical recommendations on the agenda.
During the first ever TransparencyCamp Europe, the Netherlands presidency hosted a session to ask participants if the EU was on the right track regarding transparency, and what measures could be taken to improve transparency in the EU further. You can view the recommendations here.
At TransparencyCamp Europe, participants stressed the importance of open data as a driver for innovation and transparent EU decision-making. The event, an ‘unconference’, brought together developers, civil servants, diplomats, transparency champions, policymakers, open data experts and journalists to share their knowledge, think up new ideas and create unique tools with the goal of making government in Europe more open.
